One would just have to take a cursory glance at Black history in America and they will find evidence of what you express here very clearly. I cannot think of too many great men without thinking of their Black woman? I'll just name a few:
Frederick Douglass = Anna Murray Douglass
Rev., Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. = Corretta Scott King
Malcolm X = Betty Shabazz
Nelson Mandela = Winnie Madikizela-Mandela I could go on, but you get the idea. These Black men could not have become great men without their great, strong and beautiful black woman.
Samuel lee White Jr-My dad who went to work everyday as a self empoyment carpenter making the bread that took care of us. And Mary A. White- My mother, who cooked breakfast lunch and dinner everyday. raised 3 children. paid all of the bills. made sure Daddy paid his taxes (which got him social security at 62). made sure daddy paid our health insurance. kept up with all the family paperwork and made sure that each and every one of us went to college. although my brother quit and joined the marine corp, when he came back from vietnam addicted to drugs, MY MOTHER went to Camp lejeune in 1968 and spoke with the Commanding officer and effected an Honorable discharge for my brother(who at the time was at home AWOL), whose friends who did not have this POWERFUL black woman in their life received and received dishonorable ones. As a result my brother was able later on in life to receive a disabled veterans service connected disability check. MY MOTHER WAS A GREAT BLACK WOMAN. And supported not only my dad and brother but anyone else out there who needed her assistance. Ditto Mr Marable Ditto. I pray that I grow up to be that same self determined and strong willed woman.
