The Lord Keeps Blessing Me

Things have been looking on the up and up for Miss Princess over here...

Do you remember my I Got My Degree... Now What? post?

Well I would just like to thank everyone for all of their support and kind words in my time of frustration.

Things have come around for me much faster then I thought they would. I've gotten calls from many many places.

I was told by Bank of America that I was overqualified for a teller position, but that I would be recommended for a Personal Banker position.

I have an interview set with an Investment Corporation in Midtown Manhattan, the day after Christmas for a Financial Service Representative position. What do I know about business investments? Not a d@mn thing, but I'm willing to learn a new trade, you never know where I may end up.

That very same day, a few hours before the interview with the Investment Corp., I have an interview with the office of Councilman Tony Avella in Queens, for a Constituent Liaison position. Now I've researched this guy and I haven't found anything exciting, but to those of you who have been a part of my blog family from the beginning, you do know that my long term goal is to become an Attorney General. With that in mind, this offer seems ideal, because the network I can build working with the councilman will be grand. But here's the thing, the position only pays $23,000 a year. *frowns*
I'm not feeling that too much, because I can make that working part time. But check this out. The councilman is planning on running for Mayor in the 2009 election. I don't know how great of a chance he has against Mayor Bloomberg, but regardless of all of that, if he does indeed run, I am sure I will work on his campaign in a higher paying position and if he does somehow win the Mayoral seat, I will DEFINITELY have a job. And honestly, even if he loses, can you imagine the type or reference he will be for me and the recommendations he will give me??
So those are the perks with that job.

After getting the call from the Councilman's Deputy Chief of Staff, I was interested in whether there were any Councilwomen that may need assistance, so I found Councilwoman Inez Dikens and this lady is doing the D@MN thing!! She is the highest ranking African American woman in New York State Democratic party. She is a Democratic District Leader for the 70th AD part B, serves as the First Vice Chair of the New York State Democratic Committee, and she is an active member of the Democratic National Committee. After reading all that I called her office in search of a job and I wasn't hanging up until I scheduled an interview with someone.
When I first called, I was told nothing was available, and by the time I hung up I had an interview set for January 9th to fill anything they feel I am suited best for. What a blessing!

The greatest and FINAL blessing of the day (thus far) came from a Legal Staffing company. I have an abruptly scheduled interview for this Wednesday in Manhattan for a Legal Secretary Position that pays $70,000 a year!! YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!!
I have to inconvenience myself just a bit, because I'm still living on campus in Rhode Island right now and had not planned on going home to New York until Saturday. So in order to go to an interview in New York on Wed I had to reschedule an exam that I have on Wed and move it to tomorrow morning (I already have 2 exams tomorrow and a paper), find money in some way to get a suit, take the bus out there early Wed morning and take it right back after the interview.
I believe that when you really want something--go get it. You may have to shed a little blood in the process, but when a good thing comes around, don't let it roll on by.

Pray for me that something good happens from at least one of these opportunities the Lord has blessed me with.

Sister Wendy...
Glad you like my new outfit, the other one was giving trouble and people complained of the lightness in color. I love how this template incorporates my favorite colors--black and gold.

THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS SISTER

Wednesday is near and the Lord will guide me through this. If I don't get it, that's alright, it wasn't made for me, and I can deal with that.

Aren't we up late...can't sleep?
